LOCAL EVENT: 2025 Hospice Turkey Shoot Regatta in Irvington Oct 3-5th

Come to the Regatta!

This year the Hospice Turkey Shoot Regatta, one of the largest sailing events in the Chesapeake, and the second largest in the US, will be held October 3-5th in the Rappahannock River, off Carters Creek and shore-side events such as a cocktail party, a sit-down dinner and the awards ceremony will be open to the public at the facilities of the Rappahannock River Yacht Club at 100 Rappahannock Rd. in Irvington. See our new website for more details: https://www.hospiceturkeyshootregatta.com

This regatta benefits our local hospice services and was founded by local sailor, marina owner and adventurer John McConnico 36 years ago, but it is being celebrated as the 30th annual hospice regatta. Co-sponsored by the Rappahannock River Yacht Club and the Yankee Point Yacht Club, this year, since McConnico passed away recently, this event will be a reflection of his dedication to this fund-raiser that he and his wife Carole Jean so strongly supported.

If you have a sailboat, there is still time to register and enter. If you have another boat, come out and enjoy the races on both Saturday and Sunday and join us for the shore-side events and visit our souvenir shop under the tents!

Importantly, come out and enjoy the waterfront activities in and around Irvington on a lovely fall weekend!
