June 27 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. – The United States Air Force Heritage of America Band ~ Live and in Concert at the Historic Irvington Commons. This exciting performance is a must-see family event. Thanks to the VIA, the concert is completely free and open to the community. July 3 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. – The Rappahannock River Yacht Club’s Boat Parade – a patriotic decorated boat parade on Carters Creek to celebrate our country’s 250th anniversary. Parade will cruise past The Tides Inn into the western branch of Carters Creek and return to eastern branch near Custom Yachts. Read details here…
July 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – The Irvington Farmers Market at the Town Commons. Shoppers can enjoy fresh produce, baked goods, artisan crafts, and specialty items while taking in the festive atmosphere that has become a favorite Fourth of July tradition in Irvington. Read details here…
CANCELED DUE TO EXTREME HEAT July 4 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. – Concert on the Commons – live music from Rockfish and the Rivermen, – relax, visit with friends, and enjoy the holiday before the parade begins. Food trucks, Auntie Alice’s Kettle Corn, The Battered Badger, and The Salty Lemon will remain after the Farmer’s Market on the Commons up until parade time.
CANCELED DUE TO EXTREME HEAT July 4 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. – The Irvington 4th of July Hometown Parade – Irvington’s Mayor, Julie Harris, will welcome parade attendees, and former Delegate, Albert Pollard, Jr. of Irvington, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies. The annual Irvington Hometown Parade steps off along King Carter Drive. Led by the Northumberland High School ROTC, the parade will feature colorful floats, decorated golf carts, bicycles, community organizations, local businesses, and crowd favorites, including the ACCA Shriners, who travel from across Virginia each year to be part of this special event. Parade honorees include the Irvington Village Improvement Association (IVIA) Volunteers of the Year, Heather Sheehan and Renee Randle, who head up the Irvington Farmer’s Market, and the Irvington Business Association’s Business Persons of the Year, Sheila Broderick Brown and Jean Ward-Smith, owners of The Dandelion.
