ALERT: Scam Involving Fake Town Payment Requests

Dear Irvington Residents and Business Owners,

It has come to our attention that at least one resident received a fraudulent email claiming to be from the Town of Irvington. There may be other similar messages circulating. In this particular case, the email originated from “@usa.com” and we have found that emails with this address are known to be scams.

These emails may appear official and may request payment for various services or obligations.

Please be advised that the Town of Irvington has not issued any invoices via email. Any such message should be considered fraudulent and treated as a scam.

If you receive any suspicious communication from an “@usa.com” address (or any other address), claiming to be from the Town Office – or from staff members such as Justin Nelson or Charles Dyson – requesting money or personal information, do not respond, click any links, or provide payment.

And, please notify the Town Office directly if you receive such a message, so that we can track the activity (804-438-6230).

Thank you for helping us keep our community safe.
