Dear Irvington Residents and Business Owners,
It has again come to our attention that at least one resident has received a fraudulent email claiming to be from the Town of Irvington and asking for a wire money transfer.
In this case and in the past, these emails have appeared very official and requested payment for various services or obligations.
Please be advised that the Town of Irvington has not issued any invoices via email or text. Any such message should be considered fraudulent and treated as a scam.
If you receive any suspicious communication claiming to be from the Town Office, the Town Council, the Planning Commission, or from staff members such as Justin Nelson or Charles Dyson – requesting money or personal information, do not respond, click any links, or provide payment.
And, please notify the Town Office directly if you receive such a message, so that we can track the activity (804-438-6230).
